Margaret J. “Peg” Schutz, 82, of Sheffield died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Sheffield. Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery. Rev. Jane Courtright will officiate. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Following the services everyone is invited to the Sheffield Community Center for a time a refreshments and fellowship.
Peg was born June 23, 1929 in Broadmoor, IL the daughter of Floyd and Abigail (Anthony) Hull. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1947. She served in the U.S Army WAC from 1949 to 1950. She married Dr. D.W. Schutz DVM in 1978 in Manlius. He died in 1982.
Peg had worked for 20 years for Harper Wyman in Princeton and for 10 years for DuKane Company in St. Charles, IL. She had also worked for 15 years at the Sheffield Historical Society. Peg enjoyed sports, genealogy and crocheting but her greatest love was being a grandmother.
Survivors include four children, Danny Bowman, Sheffield, Michael Bowman, Sheffield, Linda Bowman Moss, Buda and Jeffrey Bowman, Kewanee, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two sisters, Grace Renner, Farmington, IL and Patricia Wheelock, Port Byron, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers.
