Allen D. Johnson, 50, of Galva, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, in the Emergency Room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19th, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Allen Johnson Memorial Fund.

Allen was born March 5, 1961 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Jimmie and Martha (McDowell) Johnson. He attended ROVA schools in Altona and Oneida and graduated from high school there in 1980. He worked for John H. Best & Sons in Galva, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, and he last was working at A.C. McCartney Equipment in Wataga. He was a member of the Hook & Bullet Club and the Little John Conservation Club both in Victoria. He was currently serving as Vice-President of the Galva/Tri-County Garden Tractor Pullers Association. His hobbies included fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family.

Those surviving are sons and a daughter-in-.law, Nick and Jennifer Johnson, Galva, Alex Johnson, Kewanee, and Nolen Johnson, Galva, one grandson, Wyatt Johnson, parents Jim and Marty Johnson, Altona, sister, Lynn (Tim) Fritz, Lynn Center, niece and nephew, Kacey & Travis Fritz, and special friend, Tammy Sterling, Galva. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a granddaughter.
